Knowledge: Living from the Heart

Knowledge is a tool. It is useful. It can be powerful. It might even save your life or that of someone else.
However, knowledge is not the be all and end all that many of us were programmed to believe.
I have spent most of my life pursuing knowledge and being driven by it. Knowledge was everything to me. It truly was my be all and end all. Ironically, the more knowledge I gained, the more I realized that I knew diddly squat.
I credit Don Miguel Ruiz for helping me with his book The Voice of Knowledge. Within it, he describes knowledge as something very useful but cautions against letting it run wild. He even compares knowledge to horses. When tame and under control-quite useful. When wild and out of control-potentially dangerous.
I have learned that life should be lived from the heart, not the brain.
I love my brain. I am super grateful that I have a good one. It serves me very well. My brain can now take a back seat as I want to focus more on how I feel.
Feeling is where it’s at! Thinking is cool, but feeling is even more so!
Since I have shifted my focus from my intellect to my heart and feelings, the quality of my life has dramatically improved. As I get better at living in my heart space (in contrast to living in my head), I enjoy more peace and contentment, which I value highly.
The more I focus on what I feel, rather than what I know, I paradoxically feel like I know more than I ever did before.
I am curious as to where this journey will take me. The horses are so amazing for helping me to stay in my heart space and out of my head. Living from the heart requires staying present.
Horses help humans to be present, living in the moment. I love horses. I always have. Little did I know how important they would be for my personal development and evolution.
I plan to honour them by continuing to evolve and by sharing with others what horses can teach.

Located in the serene landscapes of East Garafraxa, Ontario, Horsefeathers is paving the way for individuals to explore the remarkable bond between humans and horses. Embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, and let the wisdom of horses guide you towards a more profound understanding of yourself and the world around you.
